Introduction: This is an easy and fairly short hike in the Rokko mountains.

Description of the event/course: From Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station we walk uphill to Arachiyama (荒地山), then down and following a valley to Oku Pond (奥池). this stretch should take us about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. we'll have lunch at the pond, then hike up Gorogorodake (ゴロゴロ岳) and down to Shukugawa Station on the Hankyu line. (an alternative somewhat longer finish would be via Kannonyama and Kabutoyama to Nigawa, again on the Hankyu line. we can decide at lunch which one we'll take.)

Meeting point and time: Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station (阪急芦屋川駅), 9:30 am
 
Transportation: Take the Hankyu train from either Umeda or Sannomiya to Ashiyagawa
(note that only local trains stop at Ashiyagawa)
 
Requirements/What to bring: Hiking Shoes/Boots, Rainwear, Hat, Sunscreen;
Drinking Water, Lunch (Bento), Snacks
 
Max # of participants: No limit
