A pleasant, easy hike and a great chance to meet other IOC members and newcomers.

Much of this hike follows a river, and there are no serious elevation gains, so it is a suitable outing for the still-hot weather. It is also a good hike for those who have little experience, but would like to enjoy the Japanese outdoors. We will follow the popular hiking course that passes through tunnels on an old railway line along the scenic Mukogawa river. The total walking time from Namaze to Takedao should not exceed two hours at a leisurely pace. We will stop for lunch at Takedao, then return to Namaze station and Takarazuka along the same route. Those who wish to return earlier can take the train back to their homes from Takedao station. For those who walk back, a visit to Takarazuka Onsen (hot spring) and/or to a local eating/drinking establishment are possible

Meeting point and time: 11 a.m. at Namaze (生瀬) JR Station;one station past JR Takarazuka on the Fukuchiyama line.

What to bring: hiking shoes or good walking shoes; headlamp or flashlight (necessary for passing through dark tunnels); rain gear (depending on the weather outlook); change of clothes if you plan to visit onsen or want to wear something different after exercise; lunch (bento sandwich, etc.); water.

Location JR Namaze (生瀬) to Takedao (武田尾) station via the old railway line.
Max number of participants: 10
Deadline for sign-up: September 22nd, 11p.m.
