Kibune to Kuruma hike (3 – 4 hours)

From Kibune Guchi station it is a 20 minute walk to Kibune village. In Kibune there is Kibune shrine. Along the hike we will encounter the cedar roots which are one of the highlights.

A waterfall along the way and Kuruma shrine is at the other end. I have been to Kuruma shrine already, if others want to go in then I am happy to wait around.

We can also buy lunch (bento) and rest and eat lunch. 

On that night in Kurama there is the Fire Festival (Kurama no Hi) from 6PM.

Meeting point and time: DemachiYanagi Station on the Eizan Line (420 yen to Kibune station 30 mins). 12.45pm for 1pm train.

Transportation & accommodation (including costs): Train fare to Kyoto plus 420 yen to Kibune station 30 mins and 420 yen return), 200 yen mountain climbing fee.

Requirements/What to bring: Hiking shoes, hiking gear, water, snacks.
