As Kevin introduced in his Hyakumeisan presentation during May monthly meeting, Misen river trail in Omine mountain range is one of the best and most beautiful variation trails in Kansai.

I plan to hike along the trail to Misen on July 18-19 as below.
Anybody interested, please let me know.
Will organize this event if we have more than 4 people, but limited to 8 due to the challenging level of this trail. (should be 3-star event)
Requires physical strength and enough experience in mountain climbing.
Members only.
Tentative schedule:
Day 1
Meet at Kintetsu Shimoichiguchi station about 8:30
(1.5 hours from Umeda/2 hours from Kyoto)
Take a local bus to Kawaai (near Dorokawa onsen)
Enjoy the beautiful Misen river trail to the mountain shelter(Hirogawara Hinangoya). On the way to the shelter, we can spend some time in natural waterpools (swimming)
- stay overnight, 5-6 hours of mountaineering (not hiking!)
Day 2
Climb up to Misen and then go down to the town where we started. About 5-6 hours of hiking. Go to onsen if we have enough time to catch the last bus.
What to bring:
Sleeping bag, matress, swimwear, headlamp, rainwear, foods, waterbottle, etc. (regular set of gears for overnight hiking)
*Need to pack as small as possible.
Sign-up deadline: July 12 (Sun)
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this event, too.
